Bummer.

So, my being all hopeful on seeing if I could find a solution for Meeko came crashing down. It's the sad fact in rescue-and a lesson I would have to eventually learn, anyways. No rescue or shelter is going to want to exchange with us if the cat we will give them dislikes other cats and urinates outside the box due to stress. Same reasons why a person wouldn't want to ADOPT said cat.

So, unless I hear from the president of HSNEI on the other option, that I really don't want to talk about...I've listed him as available for an outdoor-country home with no adoption fee.

It's really the only think I can do at this time.

It's sobering, but it was also beneficial. It was good to talk to a fellow rescue person about it-and that with time...it never gets easier. She said when she started out, she saw cats as "a dime a dozen" but after awhile, they are a penny. Due to people not having their pets spayed/neutered-it's something to think about.

You have a cat that uses the litter box perfectly, gets along with humans (and children), cats/dogs...you are very likely to find that cat a good home.

You have a cat that will attack other cats, urinate inappropriately out of stress, and does not like being confined-you will have a very hard time finding that cat a home. Basically-it is taking up a spot a highly-adoptable cat could use.

Being we only have 3 foster homes for cats, our problem is magnified. Soon there will be calls on if we can take pregnant mothers, litters of kittens. Cats NEVER go away.

So I'm watching Animal Cops and feeling somewhat sorry for myself and the situation.

Now...time to change a litter box. I suppose I'm behind on eating lunch...but my appetite just isn't here right now.
